12 projects under construction in downtown Phoenix

The skyline of downtown Phoenix is ​​constantly changing. Stand on any corner and you’ll likely see a construction project in progress. Here are 10 Downtown Phoenix Construction Projects which are currently under construction and which will likely change the way we live, work and play in the city.

Two high-rise towers will soon bring new residential offerings, student accommodation, retail and offices to the transit hub of Central and Van Buren. A total of 365 luxury rental units and 693 student accommodation beds will be added. Developer Medistar will also incorporate existing light rail and bus infrastructure into the completed project.

Habitat Metro opened 70 purposefully sustainable apartments on the southwest corner of 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Streets. The completed 5-story project will include over 3,300 square feet of retail space, the use of solar energy, a car-sharing program, gray water recycling, and other traditional residential amenities.

A 17-story, 254-unit apartment complex by Aspirant Development is well underway at the NE corner of Fillmore Street and Third Avenue. The project will have retail and luxury finishes on the ground floor.

Transwestern Development Company has begun construction of The Derby, a unique micro-unit project in the heart of Roosevelt Row. The project will be a 21-story skyscraper comprising 222 residential units over six floors of above-ground parking. All units will be furnished and average 350-400 square feet.

Currently under construction at 2nd Street and Jackson, this hotel will be the first newly constructed commercial building in the thriving warehouse district in years. The completed project will activate a long empty historic structure in the final construction and will include 149 rooms.

Valley Metro is expanding its light rail system south and west with the addition of several new downtown hubs as well as a new downtown station hub at the intersection of Central and from Washington. Expected completion by 2024.

The 1922 Ellis Building is currently undergoing a $10 million renovation. The completed project will include a ground floor retail, daycare, speakeasy, wellness studio, co-living and co-working.

Developer Lincoln Ventures has begun construction on a new 24-story, 326-unit multi-family development. The project will include luxury amenities, ground floor retail and is expected to be completed in June 2023.

Hubbard Street Group recently pioneered Skye on 6th, a 26-story, 309-unit luxury apartment project on the corner of 6th Street and Garfield. The project will offer retail on the ground floor, be LEED certified and is expected to be completed by summer 2023.

Offering 352 luxury and labor-intensive residential units, Palmcourt Tower has just started construction (Q1 2022) at the corner of 5th Street and Van Buren.

Developer, Fore Property, began work on this mid-rise, multi-family project on the southwest corner of 2nd Avenue and Fillmore in early 2020. The 7-story development will feature 323 apartments and retail on the ground floor. Opening scheduled for June 2022.

Willetta 15. The project will be a 3-story, 15-unit apartment complex that will have exceptional modern architecture designed to complement its two neighbors that we have also developed, Willetta 9 and Evergreen 9. All residences will be oversized. types, with luxury finishes, large sliding glass doors that open to balconies/patios, walk-in closets and double vanities.
