Construction projects, events planned for West Lafayette Library
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Several construction project updates and previews of upcoming events were discussed at the West Lafayette Public Library Board meeting on Wednesday evening.
Scott Senefeld, landscape architect for Veridus Group.
“…the existing doors on the southeast corner of the building,” Senefeld began, “if you recall, those doors are going to be changed, which is going to coordinate with the handicap accessible system. We spent this order, the contractor placed that order several weeks ago, and we’re probably still about nine weeks away from receiving those doors.
The library’s window shade contractor for the building was on hand Wednesday and Thursday to provide pricing for various shades.
“We had a request to look at some pricing on some manual grades,” Senefeld said, “and Guillaume and the shading contractor are in the process of gathering this information…”
Previously incorrectly installed handrails will be properly installed in a meeting with Wilhelm Construction.
“You may have noticed that the new replacement handrail for the new entrance has been delivered,” Senefeld said. “This has not yet been installed. You currently have handrails which…were manufactured incorrectly. So there is a new rail to be installed. We have requested a meeting on site with Wilhelm , the installing contractor and ourselves just to review the anchoring of this (handrail) system… We will be looking to have this meeting here within the next ten days week.”
