Entry Level Architectural Project Designer – Los Angeles, CA, US | Works

Michael Maltzan Architecture is seeking an entry-level architectural project designer to join our Los Angeles office. Candidates should be passionate about architecture, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about contributing to a team.

Responsibilities include:

• Work with the Senior Design Director and project team(s) through all phases of design work, from concept to design development;

• Work with project teams in the execution of presentations and the production of all design work;

• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings and construction drawings;

• Produce physical models;

• Assist in the coordination of the internal team and support coordination with consultants, contractors, manufacturers and regulatory bodies;

• Contribute to office activities and initiatives.


• Must be a self-motivated and self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as part of a project team;

• Exceptional graphic presentation skills;

• Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, including AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Adobe Suite;

• Proficiency in making physical models;

• Basic knowledge of materials, construction methods and building codes;

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work on several projects at the same time;

• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design ideas and directions.
