As part of a job offer, we are looking for Field Construction Manager (AMO).


The Field Construction Manager is responsible for defining, coordinating and managing construction projects in different cells. He/she is responsible for monitoring budgets, respecting provisional deadlines and the expected quality of construction projects in the field.

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager,

Under the functional responsibility of one or more Cell Managers.

Main responsibilities:

Be responsible for the management of construction projects with the cell manager:

  • Optimize exchanges between the various project stakeholders: site team, coordination, field, headquarters and various referents with the Cell Manager.
  • Ensure the production of documents to present the project to the project committee and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the correct architectural translation regarding medical and operational needs.
  • Be the point of contact between the missions, the site teams, the unit and the various referents at headquarters.
  • Organize meetings and project committees according to validation points and project needs.
  • Inform the cell manager regularly.

Support the teams in setting up the project:

  • Transpose the project sheet into operational and medical programming with the cell team.
  • Ensure that the field carries out the different phases of construction projects: definition of needs, feasibility study, design, calls for tenders, construction and acceptance.
  • Support and advise Construction Project Managers in project monitoring (schedule, resource allocation, budgets, etc.).
  • Realize the phasing of the projects with the construction teams according to the constraints of the missions.
  • Ensure the provisional and final acceptance of the project, the updating of plans, the creation of maintenance manuals, the financial statement.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with project managers and architects.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines, budget and specifications.
  • Ensure the use of standard documents by the teams.

Provide advice and technical support to fields and units:

  • Advise and support construction project managers and logistics managers in their construction decisions.
  • Support architects in the production of plans and other technical documents.
  • Ensure the capitalization and archiving of documents by the teams
  • Be in contact with other MSF sections to share local information and best practices.

Be responsible for monitoring and analyzing its activity:

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of cell construction projects and compliance with projected deadlines.
  • Ensure that the information, decisions and data necessary for the management of the activity are transmitted to the parties concerned.
  • Participate in the development of the budget and reviews.

Transmission of skills and capitalization:

  • Ensure the capitalization of knowledge and methods acquired in the field, write feedback.
  • Monitor and evaluate the deployment of new practices in its activity.
  • Participate in coordinator briefings and debriefings on construction projects.
  • Establishment of site teams and monitoring of managers: recruitment of teams (technical validation), technical evaluation of project owners and architects.
  • Ensure skills development through internal or external training.


Degree in architecture required. Experience as a construction project manager on MSF hospital projects is essential.

Languages ​​: Fluent in French and English (B2)

  • Master the technical skills of your specialty
  • Knowledge of logistics techniques and tools.
  • Master project management.

Specifics of the position

Status : CDD of 18 months – Full time – Position based in Paris.

Salary : €47.2 K gross per year over 13 months, 22 days RTT/year, health insurance covered by MSF, meal vouchers with a face value of €9 (60% covered by MSF), 50% the transport card supported.
