Intermediate/Junior Architect/Project Manager – High End Residential – New York, NY, US | Works

Mr. Ziemke Architecture is a small, custom-designed architectural practice founded by Marcus Ziemke in 2020. The firm focuses on high-end residential architecture in New York City, The Hamptons, Connecticut, North America. New York State and elsewhere (currently DC and London as well). . We have a number of exciting projects underway, with more still in the works, so we are looking for an ambitious architectural designer to join our team, in the Flatiron District.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall project management skills, as it relates to recruiting project consultants, managing the filing of drawing submissions and strategies with shippers, client presentations and construction documentation
  • Able to take design concept drawings and sketches and develop them to the level of working and presentation drawings for internal and client/DOB reviews
  • Must have some familiarity with common building code sections, construction materials and details, and how to represent these items using drawings
  • Strong time and workload management, able to transition from project to project as needed, with periodic interaction with manager
  • Visit job sites to record existing conditions, as well as for construction administration, through to completion

Skills and abilities

  • Professional degree in architecture (BArch or Master)
  • 3+ years of relevant architectural experience
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and working knowledge of construction
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong design and drafting abilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner, regarding internal operations or project management with clients, consultants, contractors, etc.
  • Substantial experience in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and SketchUp
  • Driven attitude with a desire to work in a small office, with the need to move from project to project in production and management
  • Desire to work in high-end single-family residential architecture
  • Be eligible to work in the United States and be located in the New York area

Working environment

  • Desktop works on Mac OS
  • Some domestic travel may be required, primarily regional
