Guess Popular This Famous Building Goes Online With Architects Muhlenberg Greene On The Berks History Center’s Second Saturday Program This Weekend

Back by popular demand, Muhlenberg Greene Architect’s Guess This Famous Building – Reading, PA Edition will go live in the Berks History Center’s Second Saturdays schedule on September 10, 2022, in honor of the 135th birthday of the founder of the company Frederick A. Muhlenberg this month.

How well do you know the architecture of your county of Berks? Join the fun and see if you can guess this famous building from the photos and fun facts shown and win prizes!

All are invited to participate in the competition to try to guess the names of the buildings presented during the live show and compete for prizes. These local Reading, PA area landmarks, past and present, will be shown in photographs from the company’s archives with fun facts providing additional clues.

This live edition of Guess This Famous Building will be hosted by company director and vice president Bob Conklin, AIA, NCARB and director of business development, Suzanne Cody.

The cost for this program is $5 for Berks History Center members and $8 for non-members. The program fee includes admission to the BHC Museum, located at 940 Center Avenue in Reading.

A display of medals that belonged to the founder of Muhlenberg Greene Architects, Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg II, FAIA, renowned for his endeavors in architecture, politics, social services and the military, will be on display.

Additionally, the company and the Berks History Center have collaborated on a set of limited-edition notecards of hand-drawn renderings of architectural designs from Muhlenberg in Berks County that will debut for sale in the Gift Shop. . The fourteen card set includes seven designs, including Stokesay Castle and Croll and Keck, with envelopes. The notecard set sells for $20.

Fees will be accepted at the door on the day of the event. Coffee, hot tea, juice and light refreshments will be available to participants at 9:30 a.m.
