Revitalization of Bondi Junction site begins construction phase

The Club Bondi Junction RSL redevelopment is underway, with the GSA Group-designed project officially selling all of its available properties just before construction begins.

The 10-story, 80-residence development is funded by Capital Corporation and launched in October 2020. Koichi Takada Architects oversaw the interior design.

“Strong sales in 2021 triggered an early start to construction and since then there has been a steady stream of enthusiastic buyers. Our latest sale was recently finalized and the construction program has officially begun, which means at the community that the project is moving forward at full speed. This is such an exciting project that offers both a long-term future for the club, modern living facilities and great benefits for the community,” said Capital Manager Jim Hunter.

The RSL club front will be reinvigorated and incorporated into the new development. BOND is set to revitalize the streets of the precinct into a bustling community center with the reimagining of Club Bondi Junction RSL below into a fabulous modern venue. Part of the regeneration of the area includes opening up the street frontage at the corner of Gray Street and Bronte Road into a welcoming and vibrant place with cafes and restaurants.

Bondi Junction RSL Club President Bill Harrigan says he looks forward to the transformation that will appeal to everyone in the community.

“I’m excited about creating a different kind of club that not only appeals to veterans and their families, but the whole community. With the inclusion of the reception areas and the new restaurant, we expect the club to be a central place for social connection,” he says.

The tower offers a number of amenities, including a landscaped rooftop created by Urbis, which includes an outdoor cinema, barbecue areas and a yoga lawn. Capital Corporation has appointed Westbourne Constructions as the builder for the development.
